The Ministry of Education has announced that the results for national exams including the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will be released between December 2025 and January 2026.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Tuesday, October 29, saud that the KPSEA and KJSEA results will be released in December, while KCSE candidates will get theirs in January.
The Grade 6 KPSEA exams were conducted between October 27 and 29, while the KJSEA exams, currently ongoing, are expected to end on November 3.
Speaking during an inspection tour of examination centres, CS Ogamba admitted that heavy rains had created logistical challenges in some parts of the country.
“This morning, I was informed that some of our officers were struggling to reach certain schools because of poor roads and damaged bridges,” Ogamba said.
To ensure exams reach all centres, the ministry has deployed helicopters to assist with distribution in affected areas.
“We have choppers on standby at the KNEC command centre. Whenever officers encounter challenges, they can call in for help, and the helicopters will deliver the papers safely,” the CS explained.
Ogamba also revealed that the government is exploring new technology to make future exam deliveries smoother.
“We are working on a policy that could allow us to use drones to deliver exams, especially in flood-prone or hard-to-reach areas,” he said.
KCSE candidates began their oral exams in German, French, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language on October 21, with practical exams running from October 29 to 31. Written papers are set to conclude on November 21.
According to Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) CEO David Njengere, 996,078 students are sitting for this year’s KCSE exams.
Meanwhile, more than 2.4 million learners started their KPSEA and KJSEA assessments on October 27. Of these, 1,298,089 are Grade 6 learners taking the KPSEA, while 1,130,669 Grade 9 learners are sitting for the KJSEA exams.
