Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz has publicly sworn loyalty to President Samia Suluhu Hassan before the elections, calling her a “very gentle, hardworking and wise” leader.
On an Instagram post, Diamond praised President Samia for the resilience and leadership she had shown through her work in issues such as infrastructure, fishing, agriculture, health, and education. The record-breaking artist in East Africa called her a “true gentleman” in politics calm and effective.
“You have done it and you still do a great job… Just stay because you are a gentleman, that is why sometimes they like to test you,” Diamond wrote.
He went on to implore the President not to be discouraged by detractors because history has a way of remembering leaders despite resistance. Sounding like a biblical example, he also went on to state that Apostles and Prophets also encountered resistance but never lost their callings.
”Understand that lots of people adore you and will show our love by voting tomorrow,” he affirmed, wishing President Samia and her opponents well on election day.
The political support of Diamond is no surprise, given his massive following in Tanzania’s entertainment and social life. His remark has raised a torrent of reactions on social media, with fans and supporters debating his political stance.
