Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Monday chaired the National and County Governments Honours Advisory Committee meeting at his official residence in Karen.

The high-level meeting brought together senior government officials tasked with overseeing the conferring of national honors to deserving individuals.

The attendees included Cabinet Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya, Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Dr. Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary for Culture, The Arts and Heritage Ummi Bashir, National Intelligence Service Director General Noordin Haji, Council of Governors CEO Mary Mwiti, and Registrar of the High Court Clara Otieno.

The meeting aimed to streamline the process of recognizing outstanding contributions to Kenya’s development across various sectors.

Deputy President Kindiki emphasized the importance of ensuring the integrity and inclusivity of the honors process.

“Chaired the National and County Governments Honours Advisory Committee meeting at the Official Residence, Karen,” said Kindiki.

The committee deliberated on ways to improve transparency and fairness in the awards process, ensuring that honorees represent a diverse cross-section of the society, including those in the private sector, civil service, and grassroots levels.
