Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday assured aspirants in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party of a free and fair primary process ahead of the February 26, 2026 by-elections in Mbeere North Constituency.
The by-elections will be held in Evurore and Muminji Wards to fill vacancies left by former ward representatives who resigned in November 2025 to participate in parliamentary by-elections.
Ahead of the polls, UDA will conduct party primaries on January 10 to determine its official flag-bearers. Speaking to aspirants, DP Kindiki urged them to respect the outcomes of the primaries and unite behind the winners to ensure success for the party in the upcoming by-elections.
“Evurore and Muminji Wards in Mbeere North Constituency will elect new MCAs on February 26, 2026 to replace the former Ward representatives who resigned in November last year to take part in Parliamentary by-elections.,” hesaid.
The engagement was attended by Embu County Governor Cecily Mbarire and Mbeere North MP Leo Wamuthende, who both expressed support for a transparent and peaceful electoral process.
The Deputy President’s reassurance comes as UDA seeks to strengthen internal democracy and maintain party cohesion ahead of the local and national electoral calendar.
