Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu has reaffirmed the State Department’s commitment to prudent financial management and the protection of Kenyans abroad during her appearance before the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

At the committee’s hearing, PS Njogu summarized the Department’s activities during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 years when the department received a clean audit report. She explained that the Department’s audit cleanliness proves commitment to transparency, accountability, and good financial management.

In her remarks, Njogu also informed Members of Parliament the department has been working to support Kenyans abroad through evacuation programmes.

The PS pointed out that the government’s ongoing support of Kenyans’ wellbeing outside the country is exemplified by their last South Africa evacuation, through which 472 Kenyans were safely returned to country.

Besides these, PS Njogu informed the assembly of the State Department’s 2025/2026 Financial Year and 2026/2027 financial years programme initiatives. She also explained the Department’s main strategic objectives to improve diaspora relations and service delivery while ensuring the continued support of Kenyans living abroad.

In addition, the meeting served as Parliament’s method for the MPs to evaluate the Department’s achievements and upcoming projects.

PS Njogu, together with the senior management team members of the Department were present throughout the committee’s meetings.
