Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz has officially revealed that he will marry fellow artist Zuchu in February 2025, just ahead of the start of Ramadhan. The announcement came during a political rally in Dodoma on January 19, where the singer confirmed the long-awaited news.
Zuchu, who has been at the center of media speculation regarding her relationship with Platinumz, also addressed the confirmation. When a journalist inquired about the wedding date, Zuchu responded by quoting Diamond’s words, saying, “He has said it will take place next month, before Ramadhan.” Diamond nodded in agreement, further solidifying the details.
The announcement comes after a series of public twists in their relationship. Just days earlier, Diamond had publicly denied any romantic involvement with Zuchu during a broadcast of the Netflix reality show Young, Famous & African, where he claimed to be single. The declaration left fans confused, especially in light of ongoing rumors and their collaborative musical success.
This uncertainty was further compounded by a controversial incident involving Zuchu, who accused Diamond’s radio staff of bullying her. She claimed they repeatedly discussed her non-marriage to the singer in a negative light. In response, Zuchu hinted at legal action against the media company involved.
In November 2024, Zuchu had briefly announced that she and Diamond had ended their relationship, citing an amicable decision. However, the couple reconciled shortly after, fueling further intrigue among fans and the media.
With February just around the corner, fans are eagerly awaiting the upcoming nuptials, marking a new chapter for one of Tanzania’s most talked-about celebrity couples.
