Activist and budding politician Morara Kebaso has revealed the details of his alleged private phone call with President William Ruto.

Before taking a break, Morara was famed for scrutinising President Ruto’s government by highlighting stalled projects and government excesses in a social media series dubbed Vampire Diaries.

In an interview with Andrew Kibe, Morara recounted the day President Ruto allegedly phoned him, saying the call caught him by surprise.

“Ruto’s voice is unmistakable. If he greets you, even on the phone, you just know it’s him. I recognised it immediately because I had listened to him many times on TV and radio,” said Morara.

The activist said President Ruto started with pleasantries and questions about his background.

The head of state then, surprisingly, acknowledged his Vampire Diaries, saying it was important to keep the government in check.

The lawyer then claimed President Ruto lastly invited him to join his government while offering to nurture him politically, as he has a “bright future”.

“President Ruto told me to join his team, saying there were many opportunities, especially for young people like me who are passionate and outspoken. He said he could help mentor youth like me to grow politically,” said Morara.

However, the activist said he respectfully turned down the offer.
