The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has intensified its crackdown on sexual exploitation and the production of obscene content, rescuing 48 young women during separate operations in Ongata Rongai and Kiserian, Kajiado County.
According to the DCI, detectives acting on information from members of the public raided a house in the Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai that was allegedly being used for the commercial production of explicit online content.

According to the DCI, detectives acting on information from members of the public raided a house in the Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai that was allegedly being used for the commercial production of explicit online content.
During the operation, officers rescued 30 women aged between 19 and 27 who were allegedly being exploited in the illegal enterprise.
Police recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras and other equipment believed to have been used in the production of obscene material. Several suspects were arrested and are being held at Ongata Rongai Police Station as investigations continue ahead of their arraignment in court.
In a separate operation in neighbouring Kiserian, detectives responded to intelligence reports that young women had been lured with promises of domestic employment, only to end up victims of sexual exploitation and commercial prostitution.
A joint team of officers from Kiserian and Rongai police stations rescued 18 women and placed them under police protection.
Investigators also recovered mobile phones, laptops and other items suspected to have been used in facilitating the offences. The suspected mastermind behind the operation remains at large, with detectives pursuing leads to effect an arrest.
The DCI said arrangements are underway to provide the rescued women with safe shelter and comprehensive support services, including psychosocial counselling and medical care, to aid their recovery and reintegration into society.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling criminal networks involved in human exploitation and the production of obscene content, noting that investigations are ongoing to establish the full scope of the operations and bring all those responsible to justice.
The DCI has also urged members of the public to continue reporting suspected cases of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and other crimes through its anonymous reporting channels.
