Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested three suspected drug traffickers in separate intelligence-led operations in Homa Bay, Nairobi and Mombasa as the agency intensifies its crackdown on narcotics trafficking across the country.
In Homa Bay County, detectives from Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) eorking with the police patrol from Oyugi town police station were able to locate Carren Adhiambo Akoth who had been on the run after police recovered the 91. 94 kg cannabis valued at KSh2. 76 million from her residence in Oyugis on June 14, 2026.
According to DCI, the suspect desapeared following the seizure but was later traced to her hideout through sustained investigations and intelligence gathering. She is expected to be arraigned in court to face narcotics trafficking charges.
Akoth will arraigned in court and face narcotics trafficking charges after the prosecution has presented the case.
In a separate opetation, detectives from ANU in Isiolo arrested Ramadhan Wache, a booking clerk at Kenya Bus Service Company who allegedly involved with drug trafficking. Wache was hiding in Eastleigh and now is being processed with view to arraignment at the court, the DCI states.
Meanwhile in Mombasa, detectives arrestsed Millicent Adhiambo and Melvin Achieng after a sack declared as dried cassava burst open while being offloaded from a passenger bus, revealing 15 packages of suspected cannabis concealed inside. The narcotics were seized as evidence while investigations continue.
The DCI commend the members of the public who contributed to the provisionof the anti-drugs crackdown with efficiency.
