Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has hit out at Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his allies, urging them to leave ODM leader Raila Odinga alone.
Speaking on Monday in Kodiaga, Gem, during the launch of a KSh12 million Rural Electrification Project set to benefit 105 households, Wandayi criticized leaders who align with Odinga before elections, only to abandon him later.
“Every election season, people run to Raila, calling him a good man, saying he must save Kenya and fight for the people. But when elections come, they sabotage him,” he stated.
Wandayi reaffirmed that the ODM camp had made a conscious decision to work with President William Ruto, dismissing calls for Odinga to rejoin the opposition.

“We have made a conscious decision to work with President Ruto. So Kalonzo Musyoka and your ilk, please leave us alone; we are still hurting as a people,” he added.
His remarks come after Kalonzo urged Odinga to reclaim his space in the opposition instead of aligning with the government.
Responding to recent statements by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wandayi dismissed any coalition proposals that, in his view, would not serve the interests of Odinga’s camp.
“If that’s the kind of coalition Gachagua wants Raila to join, then he is mistaken with that kind of ideology,” he said.
The CS noted the shifting political landscape, asserting that there are now only two main political camps in Kenya.
“As things stand, you are either with the broad-based formation where I belong, or you are with the ‘Wamunyoro’ coalition. There is no third way. Don’t confuse us. Just declare where you stand so that we know how to handle you,” Wandayi stated.
He further accused some politicians of exploiting Odinga’s political struggles for personal gain, branding them as “political vultures.”
“These vultures always want to see Baba (Raila) languishing in the streets while they benefit politically. Your time is up,” he warned.
Wandayi also condemned politicians who secure positions while leaving Odinga to fight on the streets, vowing that such tactics would no longer be tolerated.
“We have refused this. Now we are telling them enough is enough,” he declared, emphasizing the need for unity of purpose moving forward.
