Comedian 2Mbili has exposed a conman who impersonated up-and-coming artist Ryan Ogam, with the intention of scamming many victims online.
2Mbili shared screenshots of WhatsApp conversations where the fraudster, saved under the name “Rda Gee” but claiming to be Ryan Ogam, was desperately trying to solicit money. In the chats, the impersonator repeatedly called and messaged, faking that he was in urgent need of cash.
He once claimed he needed KSh 2,000 urgently, saying a woman had just given birth at “St. Francis Hospital.” He went further to claim the hospital bill was KSh 500,000, attempting to create panic and urgency.
2Mbili, amused yet annoyed at the audacity, blasted the scammer publicly, writing:
“Haya ‘RYAN OGAM’ anataka 2K urgently atoe mtoto hospitali pale Sent Francis!! Bill ni 500K ya kuzaa mtoto! Kumbe conmen pia wanapeana mimba! Unapewe aje mimba na conman? Wewe kama mtoto uko aje na mzazi conman??
Social media users praised 2Mbili for exposing the scheme, warning others to be vigilant about unknown numbers, especially those claiming to be celebrities in distress. Others tagged Ryan Ogam, advising him to address the impersonation and ensure fans know his official contacts.
