A section of civil society organizations from the Cost region is backing the ongoing call for a national dialogue, emphasizing the need for inclusivity, grassroots participation and political goodwill to resolve the country’s deep-rooted social and political challenges.

Speaking in Mombasa County the lobby group led by Director of the Kenya Civil Society Centre Suba Churchill noted the issues raised by the youths are not new hence the need for a structured and legally-binding process that delivers real change.

The civil society groups emphasized that any dialogue process must not be left to the political elite alone, but should be rooted in the lived realities of ordinary Kenyans, especially at the grassroots level.

They called on both the government and the opposition to demonstrate goodwill and commit to an open, inclusive process that fosters national healing, justice, and accountability.

The organizations further warned that failure to address the underlying causes of public unrest could deepen the country’s crisis and erode trust in national institutions.
