Kenyan duo Brian Muchiri and Jane Karumba have received an outpouring of gifts following the viral success of their engagement video, which has garnered over 1.7 million views.
On Valentine’s Day, Brian Muchiri proposed to his girlfriend, prompting an influx of Kenyans to the comment section, offering nearly all the essentials for their upcoming wedding. On his YouTube channel, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to everyone who has extended their support, noting that he never anticipated such a generous response.
“We are still in disbelief! After posting our proposal video, the amount of love and generosity we have received from everyone has been astonishing. Strangers—people who don’t even know us personally—have stepped forward to assist us in organizing our wedding and providing everything we need. We never thought we would receive this kind of support, and we are truly thankful,” he shared.
Brian has been wheelchair-bound since a tragic accident in his teenage years. In a prior interview, he recounted how he was returning home from a night out with four friends when a truck collided with them. Tragically, three of his friends lost their lives, and he sustained three breaks to his spine, resulting in paralysis from the chest down.
At that time, he was a student at Jkuat and had to leave his studies indefinitely following the accident.
Muchiri is an advocate, storyteller, writer, and content creator. He founded the Strong Spine Foundation, an organization aimed at promoting accurate awareness regarding disabilities.
