Boniface Kariuki the mask vendor who was shot at close range in Nairobi streets during the 17th June protests will be laid to rest this Friday.

Kariuki will be buried at his rural home in Kangema , Murang’a County. During his requiem mass held at the Holy Family Basilica, mourners eulogized Boniface as a law-abiding and hardworking Kenyan.

They have called for justice for their son and an end to extra-judicial killings. Family, friends and Kenyans at large on Wednesday congregated at the Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi, for the requiem mass of the late mask vendor Boniface Kariuki.

The mask vendor who was shot at a close- range by a police officer during the June 17th protests died on June 30th after two weeks in ICU.

Kariuki was eulogized as a law-abiding citizen whose future was cut short by a bullet. His family said they had lost their only son.

They called for an end to extra-judicial killings, the mourners also demanded that those who were involved in the shooting of their son face the full force of the law
