The mother of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo has broken her silence in an emotionally packed interview with gospel artist and presenter Shiru wa Oakland; sentiments that have now gone viral online, sparking conversations across the country as she calls for clarity, accountability, and protection for her grandchildren.
The mother of Betty Bayo spoke with visible distress as she insisted that a post-mortem must be conducted to establish the actual cause of her daughter’s death. She cited that her family deserves answers, not speculation, and called on authorities to ensure transparency in the investigation.
“There should be a post-mortem on the body of Betty to ascertain the cause of her death, and he should return my National ID.”
The grieving mother also raised concerns about her grandchildren’s welfare, saying she does not want them spending a night at Tash’s place. She made it known that she would prefer them under the care of Pastor Victor Kanyari, Betty’s ex-husband and the father to the kids.
“If possible, the children should not stay at Tash’s place; Kanyari should take care of them.”
Her plea has sparked further public debate on parental rights, custody arrangements, and what is in the best interests of the children during this period. She also declared that she wants her National ID returned, though she would not go into details of how it ended up in someone else’s possession. This development has also seen social media users seek explanations on the same, adding to the storm following Betty’s death.
