Australia has issued a travel advisory for Kenya, urging its citizens to exercise caution due to threats of terrorism and violent crime.

The advisory, issued on Friday, June 6, highlights that terrorist attacks could occur at any time, including in areas popular with foreigners and tourists.

"Terrorist attacks could happen at any time, including in locations that are popular with foreigners and tourists," read the notice.

Specifically, Australians are advised not to travel to Mandera, Wajir, and Garissa counties, and to reconsider travel to Lamu and Malindi counties due to heightened risks.

The advisory warns of violent crimes such as carjackings, kidnappings, and home invasions, and cautions against walking around after dark.
