AFC Leopards will head to the polls on June 29 to elect new officials, the club has confirmed.

In a statement issued by Acting Secretary General Caroline Walusaga, the club announced that the elections will take place in line with Article 10.3 of the AFC Leopards Constitution.

“Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with Article 10.3 of the club constitution, a Special General Meeting will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Stadion Hotel Ballroom, Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, starting at 8:00 a.m., to transact the following business,” said Walusaga.

Key positions up for election include Chairman, Secretary General, and Treasurer.

However, the scheduled elections come amid uncertainty, following a directive from Sports Registrar Rose Wasike, who postponed the polls to next year.

Wasike argued that the current office bearers have not yet completed their four-year term, which is set to conclude in 2026.

AFC Leoprads Chairman Dan Shikanda.

Despite the legal dispute, interest in the top job is heating up. Several candidates have already declared their intentions to challenge Dan Shikanda, the outgoing chairman.

Among those eyeing the leadership are club legend Boniface Ambani, former marketing director Enos Mutoka, and ex-CEO Ronald Namai—setting the stage for what is expected to be a hotly contested election.
