The National Treasury has announced a scheduled overnight maintenance of the e-Citizen platform, warning Kenyans of possible interruptions to government digital services during the exercise.
The maintenance will begin at 10 pm tonight and run until 5 am tomorrow, temporarily affecting access to the platform and some of the services available through it.
In a public notice issued through the Government Digital Payments Department, the Treasury said the exercise would involve system upgrades intended to improve performance, strengthen security and enhance the reliability of government digital services.
The Ministry advised members of the public, stakeholders and other users to plan ahead and complete urgent transactions before the scheduled maintenance begins.
During the seven-hour exercise, users may experience temporary service interruptions or limited access to e-Citizen and its associated government services.

The Treasury said the upgrades were necessary to improve the platform’s performance and security while ensuring the “continued reliability of services.”
The announcement comes as e-Citizen continues to serve as a central platform through which Kenyans access and pay for various government services online.
The Treasury has also scheduled another maintenance exercise for the following weekend, beginning at 10 pm on Saturday, November 14, and ending at 5 am on Sunday, November 15.
Users have consequently been advised to take note of both maintenance windows to avoid inconveniences when accessing essential government services.
The Treasury apologised for any inconvenience caused by the temporary interruptions and appealed to members of the public for patience and understanding as the system upgrades are undertaken.
