National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has called on leaders from Western Kenya to unite and speak with one voice to advance the region’s development.
Wetang’ula made the remarks in Kapretwa Village, Saboti Ward, Trans-Nzoia County, where he joined residents, family members, friends and leaders for the funeral service of the late Edward Musombi Munabi.
He described Munabi as a dependable member of his staff, trusted ally, confidant and long-time friend who supported him throughout his political journey.
Wetang’ula also eulogised Munabi as a committed grassroots mobiliser and loyal member of the Ford Kenya Party who contributed to its growth and activities.
During the gathering, Wetang’ula urged Western Kenya leaders to work together despite their political affiliations, saying residents expect service delivery rather than political rhetoric.
He further appealed to Wamalwa to reconsider his current political position and support the Kenya Kwanza Government. Wetang’ula said he would support Wamalwa politically and assured him of a role in President William Ruto’s next administration if he chose to work with the government.
The Speaker also urged Trans-Nzoia leaders to maintain good relations with the national government, saying residents deserve development and public services regardless of political differences.
