Model and content creator Nara Smith has revealed her 2- year- old daughter, Whimsy was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
The diagnosis came weeks after medical check-ups, X-rays, ultrasounds and biopsy. In an Instagram video shared, Nara said she and her husband took their daughter to the emergency room after noticing what she described “something suspicious” before a follow up with her pediatrician.
Nara also stated doctors advised them the disease had spread and that their baby would need to begin chemotherapy immediately for them to be able to manage it.
She said by sharing her story online will encourage other parents to trust their instincts, seek medical help early and that breaking the silence around illness and vulnerability can be a source of strength.
Nara Smith explained her absences online in the recent months have been due to her daughter, whom she is taking care of and who needs all the attention now.
