Preparations for the 2026 Devolution Sensitisation Week (DSW 2026) have gathered pace following a planning meeting between the Council of Governors and the Garissa County Government.
The Council of Governors’ DSW 2026 Planning Committee met with officials from the Garissa County Government, led by Nathif Jama Adam, to assess planning progress, logistics, and resource mobilisation ahead of the national event.
The meeting focused on ensuring seamless coordination as Garissa County gears up to host the annual forum, which brings together government leaders, development partners, civil society organisations, and members of the public to discuss the progress and future of devolution.
“The Council of Governors’ DSW 2026 Planning Committee met with the Garissa County Government, led by H.E.@Nathif_J_Adam , to review planning progress, logistics, and resource mobilization ahead of the event,”statement read.

According to the Council of Governors, the Devolution Sensitisation Week serves as a platform for public and stakeholder engagement, showcasing the achievements of devolution, addressing emerging challenges, and fostering dialogue on strengthening devolved governance.

The Garissa County Government reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a successful DSW 2026, with both the county and the Council of Governors pledging to continue working closely to ensure the event is well organised and impactful.
