Kenyan TikToker and entrepreneur Rish Kamunge has been arrested over claims that she operated a fake overseas job agency that scammed job seekers out of millions of shillings.
On March 26, 2025, angry victims stormed her office and dragged her to the police station, demanding justice. Kamunge, the founder of Trust Pin Verified Agency Limited, had promoted job opportunities abroad through her TikTok and social media platforms, attracting many unemployed Kenyans.
Victims allege they were required to pay Ksh 200,000 each, supposedly covering airfare, agency fees, and other costs. However, many never received the promised jobs or refunds. Frustrated by months of unfulfilled promises, job seekers confronted her at her office along Moi Avenue in Nairobi.
Nairobi Central Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Okal has urged victims to report to the Central Police Station to assist with investigations. Authorities are also encouraging other affected individuals to come forward with relevant information.
Kamunge’s lawyer has stated that she is willing to reimburse those who paid but did not receive job placements. He also claimed the situation is a case of misrepresentation rather than fraud. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the alleged scam.
