A fresh political storm is brewing after Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi launched a scathing attack on Siaya Governor James Orengo, accusing him of advancing what he termed as “politics of poverty.”
In a strongly worded statement shared on his social media platforms, Sudi criticized Orengo’s long-standing presence in Kenya’s political scene, arguing that despite decades in leadership, the Siaya governor has little to show in terms of tangible development.
He claimed that Orengo’s style of politics has failed to uplift the lives of ordinary citizens.
“Ever since I was born I’ve been seeing Orengo in politics, but his politics are politics of poverty. He’s not a reformist and he has no development track record,” Sudi stated.
The outspoken MP further accused Orengo of allegedly influencing young people, particularly Gen Z, to engage in street protests instead of focusing on constructive nation-building efforts.
Sudi challenged the governor to prioritize development initiatives in his county rather than engaging in political rhetoric.
