Justice Isaac Lenaola

Supreme Court Judge Justice Isaac Lenaola has urged reforms in legal education to equip future lawyers with skills to handle emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) while reinforcing ethical standards.

Speaking at the launch of Zetech University’s Law School and Bachelor of Laws Programme in Mang’u, he highlighted that digital innovations are transforming courts and legal practice, and universities must prepare students for these shifts.

Justice Lenaola emphasized that the current legal curriculum has remained largely unchanged for years, and with the rise of competency-based education, law schools and the Kenya School of Law must adapt to meet new demands. He also raised concerns about unethical conduct in the profession, noting that corruption and client exploitation continue to undermine public trust in the justice system.

Zetech University officials, including Deputy Vice Chancellor Alice Njuguna and Council of Legal Education CEO Jack Mwimali, affirmed the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality, ethically grounded legal training.
