Kenyan superstar Akothee has once again caused a buzz online after exposing her garden worker, Brayan, for allegedly trying to scam her out of money. In a detailed post, the singer narrated how she sent him KSh 2,000 to buy garden tools, only for him to claim he never received the cash.
According to Akothee, Brayan kept calling her repeatedly insisting the money had not reflected. She ignored him at first, but the next day he followed up again, insisting he couldn’t do his work because she had only sent KSh 400, not the full amount.
Suspicious, Akothee decided to investigate. After checking his phone, it showed that the KSh 400 he claimed was actually what he had withdrawn from a nearby enterprise. Still, he denied everything. Akothee even asked if she should call Safaricom, and Brayan agreed perhaps believing his story would hold.
But once Akothee contacted Safaricom, the truth came out. The company confirmed that the full KSh 2,000 had indeed reached Brayan. And that’s when he allegedly burst into laughter and mocked her, saying, “Mama nguonona, wich ja will.”
That was the final straw for Akothee.
The singer fired him immediately, saying she doesn’t tolerate dishonesty.
“Brayan is going home. I don’t entertain dishonesty. I can smile and laugh with you today but I can change into something you don’t know. That’s how empaths operate,” she wrote.
She added that he is now free to “go drink himself to death in his mother’s compound,” noting that he is only 25 years old.
Akothee also shared the MPesa confirmation message showing the KSh 2,000 transaction solid proof that she had indeed sent the money.
