John Lejirma, Elvis Muigua, Adel Balala, and Krish Beiju will represent Kenya at the All Africa Golf Team Championship, taking place at the Bulawayo Golf Club in Zimbabwe from Sunday to Saturday next week.

Chairman of the Kenya Golf Union (KGU) David Ndung’u said they are excited seeing young talents on such tournament stage.

“Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off, and we have complete confidence in their ability to compete at the highest level. This championship is not only a chance to showcase their skills but also an opportunity to build camaraderie among African nations through sport,” said David Ndung’u,

The team is coming off a successful performance in the recent Region IV tournament held earlier this month.

“We are looking forward to our next challenge at the AAGTC in Zimbabwe. Competing against the continent’s top amateurs will be a true test of our capabilities as a team. Myself, Adel, Lejirma, and Krish have been putting in the effort individually and will continue training with our coach after our recent successes,” said John Lejirma, the team captain.

Team Kenya set for the tourney in Zimbabwe.

Under the guidance of national coach John van Liefland, the team has been training intensively for the past two months in preparation for the championship, which will feature 15 participating countries, including South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Morocco, Ghana, Tunisia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Malawi, and Seychelles.

The biennial All Africa Golf Championship, first held in 2001, is regarded as one of the most prestigious amateur team events in Africa and is endorsed by the R&A and the Africa Golf Confederation.
