Today, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Barasa, welcomed the Global Fund Audit team, led by Mr. Augustine Agyeman-Duah, the Global Fund Audit Manager, to Afya House.

The meeting focused on the implementation of the Global Fund grant aimed at tackling HIV/AIDS, Malaria, and Tuberculosis in Kenya.

Kenya recently secured a new grant worth USD 407,989,068, which will run from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2027.

As part of their commitment to transparency, the Global Fund will conduct a routine audit between September 23, 2024, and November 14, 2024, to assess the effectiveness of the previous grant, which concluded on June 30.

Dr. Barasa emphasized the Ministry of Health’s commitment to strong financial management and effective controls to ensure the success of the programs funded by the Global Fund.
