The death toll from the Nakuru-Eldoret accident that occurred in the Migaa area near Salgaa on Tuesday morning has risen to 13.
The accident happened around 5 a.m. when a PSV bus was involved in a multi-vehicle collision.
Among the 13 victims, five were women, seven were men, and one was an infant.

The death toll increased as more bodies were recovered from the wreckage of the vehicles involved in the crash.

A total of 55 people sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at various hospitals in the area.
The bus, traveling from Kericho towards Nakuru, reportedly lost its brakes while navigating the steep stretch. It then crashed into barriers and other vehicles before plunging into a ditch.
Rift Valley Regional Police Commander Jasper Ombati confirmed the incident.
This location is notorious for such fatal accidents.
