Siaya Senator Dr. Oburu Odinga delivered a moving tribute to his late younger brother, former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga, describing him as more than just family — a lifelong friend, confidant, and trusted adviser.
Speaking during the State Funeral service at Nyayo National Stadium, an emotional Oburu reflected on their close bond, recounting decades of shared struggles, triumphs, and sacrifices in the fight for democracy and justice in Kenya.
“He was my brother, my friend, my confidant, and my adviser,” Oburu said, his voice breaking as mourners listened in silence.
The senator praised Raila’s resilience and selflessness, noting that his leadership and vision transformed not only their family but also the nation.

“Raila dedicated his life to the service of others. He was a man of great courage, compassion, and conviction. Kenya has lost a pillar of democracy, and I have lost a part of myself,” he added.
