Italy has formally submitted a list of 14 stadiums to UEFA as part of its bid to host a future European Championship, becoming one of the five countries will host the tournament.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) notified UEFA of the proposed venues in the preparations for EURO 2032, also submitting 13 cities that will jointly host with Turkey.

Rome is the only city that will be represented by two stadiums, with the Olympic Stadium joined by Pietra Lata. The cities include Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Florence, Genoa, Lecce, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Salerno, Turin and Verona.

The submission comes after UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin had raised concerns about the condition of Italy’s stadium infrastructure, stating that the facilities needed to be ready on time for EURO 2032, asserting that the tournament could not be staged in Italy.

UEFA is expected to carry out inspections of the stadiums for necessary compliance checks, including infrastructure compatibility, accessibility, fan services, sustainability, media and broadcast services, security and hospitality.
