AFC Leopards celebrating 2-1 win over Shabana FC in Kisii

Shabana’s tough run in the Kenya Premier League stretched further after a 2-1 defeat to AFC Leopards in a midweek clash at Gusii Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The home side made a bright start, taking the lead in the 10th minute through Austine Odongo. However, their momentum faded as Victor Omune restored parity for Leopards in the 72nd minute.

Disaster struck for Shabana late in the game when a James Kinyanjui corner was deflected into their own net in the 88th minute, gifting Ingwe all three points.

The victory was Leopards’ second of the season, coming just four days after their 2-1 win over Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB).

For Shabana, the loss marked their third consecutive defeat under coach Peter Okidi, following setbacks against Posta Rangers and Mathare United — all at their Gusii Stadium home.
