Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has called on Kenyans to ignore divisive political rhetoric and instead focus on the tangible progress being made by the Kenya Kwanza administration across various sectors.
Speaking on Saturday in Gatundu North during the Jamii Imara Mashinani forum, Mwaura said the government remains steadfast in delivering its promises to the people and will not be distracted by the opposition’s attempts to sow confusion.
“Some people are trying to create unnecessary confusion and distrust,” Mwaura said. “Our message to Kenyans is clear: do not listen to those in the opposition who are misleading you.
The Jamii Imara Mashinani initiative, which brings together Principal Secretaries, Chief Executive Officers, and Directors from various state departments, seeks to take government services, information, and feedback forums directly to the grassroots.
The program is designed to strengthen public participation, accountability, and citizen engagement in development.
Mwaura highlighted key achievements of the administration in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, and healthcare, saying the results of President William Ruto’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) are already visible.
“The government is committed to ensuring that every Kenyan, regardless of background, feels the impact of development,” he added. “We are seeing new roads, irrigation projects, affordable housing, and support for small businesses — this is what real transformation looks like.”
Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome, who also attended the forum, echoed Mwaura’s remarks, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective responsibility among leaders.
She said the Mount Kenya region has been a major beneficiary of ongoing national projects and must continue to rally behind the President’s development vision.
Wahome, who has been leading digitization reforms in the lands sector, reaffirmed her ministry’s commitment to eliminating corruption and restoring trust in public services.
Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Salome Wairimu Muhia praised the Jamii Imara Mashinani initiative as a bridge between the government and the people, saying it promotes transparency and inclusivity.
“Through Jamii Imara Mashinani, we are strengthening trust between citizens and the state,” Muhia said. “Development must be a shared journey where everyone feels seen, heard, and served.”
Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Mary Muthoni noted that the government’s ongoing healthcare reforms and youth empowerment programs reflect a leadership that prioritizes people’s well-being.
“Good health is the foundation of development,” she said. “We are expanding access to healthcare, tackling drug and substance abuse, and empowering young people to take charge of their futures. The government is determined to ensure that no Kenyan is left behind.”
