Principal Secretary for Correctional Services Dr. Salome Muhia Beacco has emphasized that true accountability in government can only be achieved through strong collaboration between leaders and citizens.

Speaking during a public engagement forum at Kahuguini Primary School Grounds, Kiambu County, Dr. Muhia said the Kenya Kwanza administration is deepening citizen participation to ensure that development projects reflect the real needs of communities.

“The government cannot work in isolation,” she stated. “We are here to listen, to engage, and to act on the priorities that people raise. Accountability begins when citizens take part in governance and follow up on implementation.”

Dr. Muhia noted that her ministry continues to strengthen rehabilitation and reintegration programs across the country, adding that citizen feedback has been critical in improving service delivery.

She was joined by her colleagues PS Alex Wachira (Energy) and PS Elijah Mwangi (Sports), alongside Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura and area MP Hon. Kagombe, who all echoed the importance of building trust between government and the public.

“The Kenya Kwanza government is walking the talk on open governance,” said Mwaura. “We want citizens to see, feel, and question progress because that’s how democracy grows.”
