Media personality Shiko Nguru and her husband are celebrating their first wedding anniversary after tying the knot at the Attorney General’s (AG) office.
Taking to social media, Shiko shared a touching message accompanied by a photo of the smiling couple, noting that while most people view AG’s office weddings as chaotic or rushed, theirs was special and unique.
“Everyone thinks that AG’s office wedding is messy, rushed, and chaotic … but it’s none of those things. It’s simple, yes, but in the best way… Intimate, stress-free, and focused on two people making a covenant. If we had to do it all over again, we’d do it the exact same way,” she wrote.
The couple tied the knot in a low-profile ceremony that stripped away the pomp of traditional weddings and instead emphasized a day of love, commitment, and togetherness. To them, the choice was deeply symbolic, a reminder that marriage has less to do with spectacle but commitment to one another.
One year down the line, Shiko and her husband are still grateful for the choice they made.
