Mwangi Kiunjuri, Laikipia East MP, has called on leaders from the Mount Kenya region to avoid personal attacks and divisive politics, focus instead on issues that have an impact on the citizens daily lives.
Kiunjuri, while addressing two fundraising events in Nyandarua County, emphasized the value of unity and noted that leadership through development was the only way to protect the region’s interests.
The legislator threw light on the need for patience, stating that the government was a deserving customer for a wait before it could deliver its promises.
Additionally, he said that the health sector was a major concern, citing the Social Health Authority’s (S.H.A) Means Testing Model as a source of controversy where he claimed it was causing an undue financial burden on the common people.
Kiunjuri made a point of the government making the needed changes in a hurry so that the scheme would be affordable and responsive to the needs of Kenyans.
He was accompanied by Laikipia West MP Wachira Karani and Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho, both of whom voiced the need for leaders to prioritise service delivery above political wrangles.
