Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor, better known as Jalang’o, recently opened up in an emotional and humorous conversation with media personality Dr. Ofweneke, offering fans a glimpse into the personal memories and motivations behind his public success.
During the candid interview, Jalang’o reflected on the pivotal role his late father played in shaping his journey. When asked what he would say if he had just one more moment with his father, he responded with a burst of humour: “I’d be shocked!”—a typical Jalang’o mix of wit and sentiment.
Beneath the laughter, however, was a touching revelation. Jalang’o shared that just before his father passed away, he left him a powerful letter. In it, he urged his son to take care of the family—particularly to ensure his younger brothers received an education and to build a home for their mother. These two missions have stayed close to Jalang’o’s heart.
“He died on the very day I got my first job,” Jalang’o said, recalling the bittersweet timing with a sense of pride and sadness. “If he were here today, I’d probably gift him a Ford Ranger just so he could cruise around the village in style.”
The two also reminisced about lighter moments, including the time Jalang’o gifted Dr. Ofweneke his first television—a gesture that highlighted the bond and shared history between the two media personalities.
Now a respected Member of Parliament, Jalang’o sees his political career as part of a promise fulfilled—not just to himself, but to his father’s legacy. His story is a reminder that behind every public figure is a private story of love, struggle, and the dreams of those who came before them.
