Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit in Mombasa have apprehended a well-known drug trafficker and seized heroin valued at approximately Sh1.8 million in a major bust in Kikambala.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Ali Bakari Ali, was arrested following an intelligence-led operation that caught him by surprise at his residence. A thorough search of the premises uncovered a blue carrier bag hidden under a mattress, containing six tightly wrapped packages of heroin weighing a total of 600 grams.
Authorities swiftly took the suspect and the seized drugs to Port Police Station, where he is currently being processed and will face drug trafficking charges in court.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is urging the public to continue sharing information on drug-related activities anonymously through the #FichuaKwaDCI hotline: 0800 722 203.
