Kameme FM co-host Joel Njenga Mungai, also known as MC Gitoero has been kicked out of a WhatsApp group of young people in his village in Kandara, Murang’a County.
Gitoero was kicked out of the group, “Joseph Ng’ang’a Muhia is Missing,” which had around 300 members, after suspicions arose that he was undermining the group’s mission.
The group was formed by residents of Ngirima village in Muruka to seek justice for the family of Joseph Ng’ang’a Muhia, an employee of Modern Furniture Pacific who went missing after a fire at the company’s Ruiru branch on December 18, 2024.
As a neighbour of Muhia, Gitoero came under scrutiny when villagers suspected that he had connections with people withholding crucial information about Muhia’s fate.
Many believe that Muhia perished in the fire, and they allege that the company, along with authorities, is hiding the truth.

However, the company’s founder, Gibson Murage, has denied these claims, and authorities have remained silent.
One of the group’s admins voiced frustration, saying that despite Gitoero’s popularity outside the village, they would not tolerate someone who, instead of supporting the family, was allegedly betraying their efforts.
