Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested two KDF officers in connection with the brutal murder of 26-year-old Mercy Kwamboka.
The two, Joseph Kamau and Fred Kanja, were the last known individuals to have been in contact with Kwamboka, a University of Nairobi student.
The student went missing from her parents’ home in Pipeline on September 28 and a search for her culminated in the discovery of her lifeless body, partially undressed and bearing bruises in Mwiki along the Eastern Bypass.
On the day Kwamboka went missing, DCI reported that Kamau picked her up from her home and proceeded to his house in Komarock.
While at the parking lot, a misunderstanding ensued, leading to a confrontation in which Kamau allegedly assaulted Mercy, resulting in her death.
Kamau then called his accomplice, Kanja, to help him dispose of the body.
The duo is currently detained at Kasarani Police Station.
