President William Ruto has expanded the portfolios of three Cabinet Secretaries, reassigning them to other ministries that currently don’t have a substantive Cabinet Secretary.

In the announcement made on Saturday, December 28, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who doubles as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, has been added the Information, Communication, and Digital Economy docket.

President Ruto tasked the Environment Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale to also oversee the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.

Lastly, Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya will also oversee the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry.

The three, Mudavadi, Duale and Mvurya will oversee the new ministries in an acting capacity until the vetting of the new appointees by the National Assembly and their subsequent appointment if successful.

Pending the vetting are Mutahi Kagwe who has been nominated to the Agriculture docket, Lee Kinyanjui for Trade and William Kabogo for Information Communication and Digital Economy.
