William Kabiogo ,Cabinet Secretary for Information Technology on Tuesday briefed the head of state Today at State William Ruto on the establishment and operationalization progress of Kenya Advanced Institute of Science & Technology.

Kabogo argued that with the infrastructure complete at Konza Tech and the Charter process nearing conclusion, Kenya-AIST will anchor advanced engineering, semiconductor research, ICT, biotechnology and industrial innovation under Vision 2030 and BETA.

“With infrastructure complete at Konzatech and the Charter process nearing conclusion, Kenya-AIST will anchor advanced engineering, semiconductor research, ICT, biotechnology and industrial innovation under Vision 2030 and BETA,”Kabogo said.

He argued that upon award of the Charter,the ministry will move immediately to faculty recruitment and admissions, with the first intake projected for January 2027.

He said that Kenya is laying the foundation for a knowledge-driven, industrialized economy.
