Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has held a consultative meeting with the Principal Secretary for Immigration, Dr. Belio Kipsang, to address challenges affecting national identification registration in the county.
The meeting, which brought together Homa Bay leaders including MPs Peter Kaluma, Dr. Joyce Bensuda, Dr. Lillian Gogo, and Dr. Eve Obara, focused on improving access to ID registration services for residents.
Wanga said the county government and the Ministry of Immigration have agreed to re-energize the registration process through a targeted Rapid Response Initiative aimed at fast-tracking both new and pending applications.
“We have jointly agreed with the Ministry to re-energize the registration process and fast-track both new and pending applications through a targeted Rapid Response Initiative. This intervention is aimed at ensuring that all eligible residents are registered and can fully access essential government services,’ he said.
The initiative is expected to ensure that all eligible residents are registered and able to access essential government services without delay.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration between national and county governments in addressing administrative bottlenecks affecting citizens at the grassroots level.
