Lands, Public Works and Housing Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome on Thursday met a delegation involved in the ongoing United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots elections in Murang’a County, where she emphasised the importance of inclusive participation and effective leadership at the local level.
Speaking during the engagement, Wahome said strong grassroots leadership is critical to the successful implementation of the government’s development agenda, noting that community-driven participation strengthens democratic processes within political parties.
“Earlier today, I met with a delegation actively involved in the ongoing UDA grassroots elections, where we held a constructive engagement on the importance of inclusive participation, effective leadership at the grassroots level, and the continued implementation of the Government’s development priorities across the country,”she posted.
The Cabinet Secretary also highlighted key government milestones, saying sustained focus on development priorities remains central to improving service delivery and economic growth across the country.
She underscored the role of grassroots leaders in mobilising communities and ensuring that national development programmes translate into tangible benefits at the local level.
The engagement forms part of ongoing sensitisation efforts surrounding the UDA grassroots elections, which are being conducted across several counties as the ruling party seeks to strengthen its internal democratic structures.
