William Ruto has announced a KSh2 billion commitment towards the completion of remaining sections of the Mau Mau roads, in a move aimed at enhancing connectivity across the Mt Kenya region.
Speaking during a development tour in Murang’a County, the President said the government is prioritizing infrastructure development to link rural areas with key economic centres.
“We are committing KSh2 billion towards the completion of the remaining sections of Mau Mau roads, enhancing connectivity across the Mt Kenya region, “President Ruto said.
At the same time, Ruto noted that efforts to connect villages to towns and farmers to markets are ongoing, both in Murang’a and across the country, as part of a broader strategy to boost agricultural productivity and ease the movement of goods.
The Head of State also presided over the launch of the construction of the 18.5-kilometre Kiriko–Kagumoini–Gitugi–Chui–Karugia road in Mathioya Constituency.
The project, valued at KSh897 million, is expected to significantly improve transportation in the area and stimulate local trade.
