Employees From Alabama, United States

At least eight employees have been fired in the United States for participating in a TikTok dance challenge, causing widespread attention.

The Siaka challenge gained attention after Shawell’s energetic performance highlighting Mejja’s album performance. The album received massive views, with the track turning into a viral sensation across the world.

The employees at Chick –fil-A restaurant in Tuskegee University, Alabama, were shown dancing in uniform and taking part in a trending TikTok challenge. The TikTok challenge became a career- ending moment immediately after the video spread across TikTok, prompting management to step in.

The reason for their firing was wearing branded attire, which the company considered inappropriate content that conflicts with its work policies and public image.

“We didn’t think we were doing something wrong. We were only having fun with the viral trend. However, we have now been fired. We used content to promote the store.”

Internet users suggested that the employees were just having fun and didn’t deserve to lose their jobs.

This isn’t the first time viral moment has backfired, as in the digital age; the personal expression and professional responsibility are thinner than ever.
