Kenyan music duo Vijana Barubaru have announced parting away from making music together as the two members have decided to focus on individual careers.
The two, Tuku Kantu and Mwana Wa Wambui, made the announcement today, September 9, saying the decision marks a new chapter in their music career of working together.
“For years, the world has known us as Vijana Barubaru. Two voices, one shared journey,” they said.
The pair explained that the decision was driven by personal growth and a desire for self -recovery and now they feel ready to explore individual artistry and unique sounds.
“As artists and as individuals, we have both continued to grow and out of the desire to further explore our creative journeys, we have to go on a hiatus to focus on our solo careers,” they said.
They thanked their fans for standing by them throughout their journey and acknowledged that their achievements would not have been possible without their support.
“Through it all you have supported us as two voices on one journey and for this, we remain forever grateful. None of what we have achieved would have been possible without the love and support you have given us,” they said.
The announcement marks a new chapter for Vijana Barubaru, with the two having built a strong foundation and will now looking to explore as individuals, each having his own experience.
