President William Ruto has committed to upgrading and expanding JM Kariuki Referral Hospital in Ol Kalou as part of his government’s development projects in Nyandarua County.
The president made the announcement on Tuesday, January 20 during a meeting with Nyandarua MPs Faith Gitau (Women Rep), Kwenya Thuku (Kinangop), Njuguna Kiaraho (Ol Kalou), George Gachagua (Ndaragwa), and Michael Muchira (Oljororok) at State House Nairobi.
During the meeting, President Ruto noted the ongoing affordable housing projects in Ol Kalou and Kinangop and the construction of modern markets in Kwa Haraka, Miharati, and Ndaragwa.
He also pledged to upgrade the infrastructure at Nyandarua University, which admitted the first 190 students in September 2025.
This will include the construction of a tuition block and a library at the learning institution.
