The Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) has announced the start of a competitive, merit-based process to recruit a new Group Chief Executive Officer.

KTDA said the selection will be conducted strictly on merit and without bias, with a strong focus on demonstrated competence, relevant sector experience and proven leadership ability.

In the interim, the board last week appointed Eng. Francis Miano as Acting Group Chief Executive Officer to guide the organisation during the transition period.

The recruitment exercise follows statutory requirements after the current Group CEO Wilson Muthaura, proceeded on terminal leave upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
