A 22-year-old university student, identified as Shadrack Omtita, was discovered dead on Monday morning in what police suspect to be a murder incident in the Ruai area of Nairobi.
The lifeless body of the young man was found lying in an open field with his mobile phone beside him, according to authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest that he was attacked by unknown assailants and succumbed to injuries at the scene.
Police have since moved the body to the mortuary for an autopsy as investigations into the tragic incident continue.
No arrests have been made so far, but law enforcement officials say they are following promising leads to apprehend those responsible.
