Baringo South MP Charles Kamuren paid a courtesy call on UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan at the party headquarters, Hustler Plaza, in Nairobi.
During the meeting, Kamuren delivered a goodwill message from the Endorois Council of Elders, highlighting the long-standing relationship between the community and Hassan.
The leaders revisited the decades-long struggle for the rights of the Endorois people, including the push for land restitution and recognition of the community as a distinct indigenous group.
Hassan was ordained as an Endorois elder in 2010 after championing the rights of the community through legal and human rights advocacy efforts. His activism has largely focused on defending the interests of minority and marginalised communities across the country.
Kamuren noted that the Endorois community has continued to pursue both legal and grassroots efforts aimed at reclaiming ancestral land and securing justice for affected families.
The UDA secretary general reiterated the party’s commitment to supporting the Endorois community and other historically marginalised groups, saying the broad-based government had created room for greater inclusion in governance and national development.
The meeting also reflected on the landmark 2010 victory that recognised the Endorois as an indigenous people, a milestone that remains central to the community’s identity and rights campaign.
